Founder and CEO

Academic Eye began when founder Ashley Brockmann stepped out of the classroom after seventeen years as a teacher, reading intervention specialist, and literacy consultant. She saw the same challenges everywhere she went. Teachers were overwhelmed by scattered data. Families wanted to help but did not always understand what their child needed. Students often had no clear way to see their own goals or progress. Ashley realized that improving education would take more than adding another program to an already crowded landscape. It would require creating one clear, simple place where learning made sense for everyone. Academic Eye was born from that vision. 

Academic Eye exists to create real improvement in education by bringing clarity to learning. Instead of adding more tools, we connect the information schools already use and bring it together in a way that highlights what truly matters for student growth. Our platform centers each child’s Proficiency Progressions, which show what a student has mastered, what they are working on now, and what comes next. Academic Eye is not just a product. It is a movement focused on aligning teachers, families, and students around a shared understanding of learning and empowering schools with a system that creates meaningful, lasting change.

Families gain a clear, visually simple view of how their child is performing in each subject area—along with specific insights into the academic and social goals their child is actively working toward. Academic Eye connects the tools and resources students already use at school, making those supports easily accessible at home without adding anything new to a family’s plate.

Instead of introducing more platforms, Academic Eye simply brings the right information to the right people at the right time. With targeted activities and engaging skill-building games, families have the confidence and clarity they need to support their child’s growth—while students always know their goals and understand their next steps.

Academic Eye isn’t another platform to add to the pile—it’s the landing pod that pulls the most important information from the many tools schools already use and brings it into one clear, meaningful view, alongside the teacher’s own data. Instead of juggling information across multiple systems, teachers finally have a cohesive hub that shows exactly what matters for student growth.

At the heart of Academic Eye is each student’s Proficiency Progression—a visually simple, standards-aligned roadmap that shows where a student is, what they’ve mastered, and what comes next. These progressions exist for every subject, empowering teachers to individualize instruction like never before and helping students take ownership of their learning.
